Shooting on interstate hospitalizes 1, Las Vegas police say

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A shooting on a major interstate in the Las Vegas Valley has transported one person to the hospital, police say.

Officials with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said a shooting happened Monday just after 3:30 p.m. on I-11 southbound between Flamingo Road and Tropicana Avenue. Police say one person was shot and transported to a nearby hospital.

The southbound I-11 lanes were shut down due to the shooting. Just before 6 p.m., Nevada State Police said the roads have cleared and are back open.

“This is an ongoing investigation,” police said.
