LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) -The Henderson Police Department released body-worn footage of a barricade scene with an armed suspect.

The “open-air” barricade happened last Thursday near Sunset and Boulder Highway. Officers responded to the 1800 block of Ward Drive, near Sunset and Boulder Highway, at 9 a.m.

The suspect was identified as 33-year-old Michael Fretheim. He’s accused of pointing a firearm at another individual who was visiting a home in the area and was involved in a standoff with police for several hours.

Officers said they located him again after he fled near Margarita Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard.

During the chase, Deputy Chief Boucher said the suspect pointed a firearm at officers, which prompted the officers to fire.

Fretheim was reportedly struck by a single round of gunfire.

The suspect sustained minor injuries and received treatment at a nearby hospital. No officers were injured in the incident.

Fretheim was booked in absentia to the Henderson Detention Center for the following charges:

  • Two counts of assault with a deadly weapon
  • One count of resisting a police officer with a firearm
  • One count of prohibited person possessing a firearm
  • One count of obstruction/false Statement to a police officer
