Skydiving incident south of Las Vegas leaves two critically injured, police say

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Two people were critically injured following a skydiving incident south of Las Vegas, police say.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the incident happened in Jean around noon Wednesday. FOX5 confirmed with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officials that two people left the scene with critical injuries.

FAA officials said they investigate the packing of the main and reserve parachutes and the rules of the flight for the pilot and aircraft.

“If the FAA does not find any evidence of regulatory violation, it will defer any further investigation of the accident to local law enforcement,” officials said. “The FAA does not determine cause.”
