LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — International Game Technology (IGT) says it will be eliminating about 700 jobs worldwide as it streamlines operations during the ongoing integration of its legacy business with Everi.

In a statement, the gaming company said it is reorganizing as it continues combining IGT and Everi operations, a move it says will speed up innovation, improve execution and support long-term growth.

The changes will affect around 700 employees worldwide, about 10% of IGT’s global workforce, according to the company. IGT said it will provide impacted employees with severance and outplacement services and, where possible, will explore opportunities for affected workers elsewhere within the company.

The company, which makes slot machines and other gaming technology, operates two facilities in Nevada, including a Las Vegas site near Buffalo Drive and Sunset Road. It is unknown how many Nevada workers will be impacted by the move.
