LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Clark County released a smoke advisory ahead of New Year’s fireworks.
The Clark County Department of Environment and Sustainability issued the advisory for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s.
Officials say the scheduled fireworks on the Las Vegas Strip and anticipated neighborhood fireworks throughout Clark County may create smoke and particulate pollution.
“Smoke is made of small dust particles and other pollutants that can aggravate respiratory diseases and contribute to ground-level ozone formation,” Clark County says. “Particulates are typically created by vehicle exhaust and wood smoke.”
For more information, the county says to visit the U.S. EPA’s AIRNow Program.
