SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) – Sparks Mayor Ed Lawson has endorsed Jacky Rosen in her bid to be re-elected to the U.S. Senate.

“I’m a lifelong Republican who has never voted for a Democrat, but this November I’ll be voting for Jacky Rosen,” said Lawson. “I’ve seen firsthand how Jacky Rosen is willing to work with anyone to get things done for Nevada’s local communities. I’ve appreciated her partnership in putting together critical legislation to help Sparks and Washoe County grow and address our affordable housing crisis. We need more leaders like Jacky in Washington who put partisanship aside, focus on local issues, and deliver for the people of our state.”

Lawson’s endorsement comes after Ely Mayor Nathan Robertson also endorsed Rosen.

The endorsement comes as Rosen has a five-point lead over GOP nominee Sam Brown in polling averages.
