LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Ability Center of Southern Nevada, in partnership with Betty’s Village and the Las Vegas Grand Prix, has launched a unique opportunity to bring the excitement of race weekend virtually, offering fans an inclusive and immersive experience.
According to an official release, the Race Day Arcade will welcome guests on Friday, Nov. 21, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Betty’s Village.
The free, accessible event is designed for guests of all abilities. It will feature a race-themed video arcade, interactive activities, food, dancing, and a live stream from the Las Vegas Grand Prix main grandstand. A highlight of the program will be two telepresence Awabots — advanced robots that let participants virtually navigate and experience the race environment in real-time from the main grandstand.
“For our members, this event isn’t just about racing—it’s about access, inclusion, and experiencing something they may never have had the chance to see firsthand,” said Chris Salas, founder of The Ability Center of Southern Nevada. “We’re grateful to the Las Vegas Grand Prix and Betty’s Village for helping us create a Race Day Arcade that ensures everyone can be part of the excitement.”
Organizers say the event will include programming designed to be fully accessible to people with disabilities. The two Awabots have accompanied the championship circuit throughout the season, providing virtual access to fans who cannot attend races in person — including hospitalized children and young people with severe illnesses or disabilities. The Las Vegas Grand Prix says the robots are part of its broader community impact efforts to deliver uplifting, immersive experiences to local communities near the race track.
