LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – 16 students from Chicanos Por La Causa celebrated their graduation from the YouthBuild program on Friday afternoon.

This program, provided by CPLC Nevada, works to help students receive their GED, and further their education by also learning a trade.

Serafin Calvo is the Workforce and Community Development Director for the organization. At Friday’s ceremony, he said, “A lot of our youth are struggling with a lot of challenges in their lives and have no direction or support. So getting a GED is huge.”

This graduating class heard from multiple speakers at the ceremony, including Las Vegas City Councilwoman Olivia Diaz, and entertainer Kid Frost.
