LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A school police investigation into a teacher at Wing and Lilly Fong Elementary School documented repeated student allegations of inappropriate classroom conduct, including a reported “knife-tag” game, according to a newly released arrest report.
Kha Nam Nguyen was arrested on Friday and is facing several child abuse charges after several students and staff reported inappropriate behavior.
Investigators say the allegations were supported by student and staff interviews and physical evidence, including recovery of a bread knife from a classroom cabinet.
According to the report, investigators documented the following allegations from students:
- Five students reported that the teacher pretended to fall asleep and had students hold his head up.
- Six students reported a “Teddy Bear” game in which the teacher pretended to cry and hugged a student for comfort.
- Eleven students reported an activity described as “chin, face, ear rest,” in which the teacher allegedly placed a hand on students’ faces without permission and had them rest their head’s weight on it.
- Eleven students reported a “knife-tag” game in which the teacher allegedly produced a large serrated knife from the top left corner of a cabinet, turned off the lights, and held the knife with a fist-like grip, with the blade pointed toward students or the ground.
- Three students reported violent tendencies, including harsh language and flipping desks.
- Three students reported the teacher called certain students “special ed.”
- Two students reported he referred to women or girls as “gold diggers,” which investigators said was consistent with prior-year reports referenced in the case.

Investigators also interview a staff member, who explained that she had reported Nguyen to school administrators after he had made advances towards her.
In an interview with detectives, Nguyen admitted to several of the behaviors described in the report, including “knife tag,” although he denied calling students “special ed.”
Nguyen posted $15,000 bail, with conditions including to stay out of trouble and away from Fong Elementary School, according to court records.
He was scheduled to be in court on Tuesday, where he faces seven counts of child abuse or neglect and seven courts of unlawful contact with a minor.
