LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police arrested a 31-year-old for a deadly shooting in the northeast valley.

Police said it happened Wednesday at 9:43 p.m. in the 3200 block of North Las Vegas Boulevard near Cheyenne Avenue.

Las Vegas Metro Police said dispatch received multiple reports of a male shot. Patrol officers arrived at an apartment complex and located him suffering from a gunshot wound.

Medical arrived and said he died at the scene.

Homicide detectives took over and learned the victim and a friend arrived at the apartment together to meet an acquaintance. While waiting, 31-year-old Adrian Rhodes approached the driver’s side from the rear and shot the victim.

He fled before officers could arrive. Police did not provide immediate details on the victim’s friend.

Thursday, officers took Rhodes into custody. he was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder.

The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, can be obtained through the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
