LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas Metro Police have arrested the suspect accused of a hit-and-run over the weekend.
LVMPD report 23-year-old Elizabeth Rodriguez was the driver of the Nissan Maxima on Jan. 19 who allegedly hit someone waking in the crosswalk on Eastern Avenue, south of Owens Avenue
Rodriguez who left the scene was located on Monday.
According to evidence and witness statement the driver of the vehicle failed to yield for the pedestrian causing the collision. The force of the hit projected the pedestrian into the roadway.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries and later died.
LVMPD report the pedestrians death marked the 9th traffic-related fatality in their jurisdiction in 2025 so far.
The incident remains under investigation.
