LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced that a suspect is in custody in connection with a double murder in the southeast valley last month.
On March 5 at approximately 3:25 a.m., LVMPD dispatch received multiple reports of a shooting on the 5000 block of East Tropicana Avenue. Officers arrived and located three victims, two adult females and an adult male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Medical personnel responded and pronounced one female victim dead at the scene. The other two victims were taken to Sunrise Hospital where the other woman was later pronounced dead and the man received medical treatment for non-life-threatening wounds.
The Homicide Section was notified and responded to the scene. Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned that a black male adult on a bicycle shot the three victims in the parking lot as he rode past them.
Detectives identified 43-year-old Jason Robert Manuel as the suspect in this case. On April 1, law enforcement in California took Manuel into custody. He was booked into the Riverside County Jail and is currently awaiting extradition to Las Vegas for open murder.
