LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The suspect linked to four Las Vegas Valley murders appeared in court Wednesday murder.
Michael Coleman, who was previously in custody for one of the deadly shootings, is facing three charges of open murder.
In a briefing on Tuesday, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Lieutenant Jason Johansson shared new details about the murders, which occurred between 2021 and 2023.
Coleman is accused of killing Kidada Stewart, Benjamin McCarty, Marcus Larry, and William Hill.
Coleman was believed to be a hired hitman used by Carl Chester, who is accused of misappropriating pandemic-era funding and using extortion to threaten those who owed him money.
Chester died in March, and while police believe he initiated most of the shootings, they determined that Coleman was the one pulling the trigger.
He will be held without bail for now and is due in court again on Monday, Sept. 23 at 8:30 a.m.
