LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The man accused of stealing a Salvation Army bus Wednesday night in North Las Vegas is set to appear in court.
The incident happened on Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the 200 block of West Judson Avenue, near North 5th Street and East Lake Mead Boulevard, according to police.

An initial report stated that police believed a passenger was on the bus, which initiated the police pursuit, but once it was discovered that the passenger was let off the bus, the police pursuit was terminated.
The bus’s route ended around 7:15 p.m. after the driver ran a red light at Tropicana Avenue and Grand Canyon Drive, hitting a motorcyclist who later died at the scene.
The driver, identified as 24-year-old Jalen Felton, is facing charges for DUI and hit-and-run in Las Vegas. He is also facing charges of kidnapping, grand larceny of a motor vehicle, and resisting a police officer, among other charges, in North Las Vegas.
Court documents obtained by FOX5 detail that Felton has prior misdemeanor convictions on his record, which date back to 10 years ago.
Felton is set to appear in the Las Vegas Justice Court at 1:30 p.m. Check back for updates.
