FERNLEY, Nev. (KOLO) – Update at 2:00 p.m.: The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says Miller was found in the rafters of a barn and was taken into custody at gunpoint.

Sheriff Pope says the lockdown has been lifted and road closures are expected to last for another few hours.

Miller will be taken to a local hospital to be evaluated before he’s booked into the Lyon County Detention Center.

Update at 1:00 p.m.: The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is releasing new details on the search for a suspect accused of stabbing his parents.

LCSO Sheriff Brad Pope says Miller may be in a man-made dwelling or a bunker, but that they are confident he is in the area.

Schools in the area remain on lockdown with no bus transportation. Residents are still being asked to shelter in place.

Police say Miller’s cell phone ping has not changed since yesterday, and he is still believed to be alive at this time. 16 houses in the area where his phone pinged have been searched and police do not believe Miller is getting help from an outside source.

Miller’s father has been declared deceased, and his mother is in the hospital and is expected to survive.

Update at 10:28 a.m.: A new shelter in place has been issued in Lyon County as police continue to look for a suspect they say stabbed his parents.

The LCSO says that Miller is in the neighborhood area of Sweetwater Rd / Richards Way / Drayer Ln / Park Ct / Smithridge Ln / Barndale Rd / Alta Vista Way / in Fernley.

SWAT is actively searching for Miller.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity is asked to call dispatch 775-463-6620.

Update on Dec. 19: The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says they are still engaged in an active manhunt for Miller and say there is no cause to believe he has left the Fernley area.

The RAVEN Unit, the helicopter unit of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, is no longer assisting in the search and will not come back unless requested.

Update at 2:16 p.m.: The LCSO has identified the suspect as Adam Miller.

They say Miller was last seen wearing red sweatpants.

Anyone who has seen Miller is asked to call 911.

Police also confirmed to KOLO 8 News Now that Miller had a criminal history. No update on the condition of the parents was provided.

Original Article: All schools in Fernley have gone into lockdown following a stabbing involving a 19-year-old.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened in the area of Farm District Road.

The LCSO says the teen stabbed their parents at around 10 a.m. Wednesday before fleeing the scene.

Farm District Road is now closed in both directions and police are actively searching for the suspect.

NHP and SWAT are assisting the LCSO.
