LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Thousands of people in the Las Vegas Valley were left without power after an NV Energy outage on Thursday night.
The energy company’s website reported that over 12,000 customers lost power. On Friday, the company revealed the cause of the outage.
“The outage appears to have been caused by a couple mylar ballons that interacted with a power line,” an NV Energy spokesperson said. “If these balloons are included in your celebration, it’s best to puncture and dispose of the balloons rather than release them in the air.”
