LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A ransom note has emerged in connection to the disappearance of ‘TODAY’ show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother in Arizona, TMZ reports.
TMZ says that they received a note Tuesday morning demanding payment for the release of Nancy Guthrie in exchange for Bitcoin. The note includes a description of an item that was damaged at Guthrie’s Tucson-area home.

TMZ did not disclose the exact amount of Bitcoin demanded, but say it’s in the millions. The outlet adds that the note includes a deadline with “an element of ‘or else’.”
TMZ says the note has been forwarded to the Pima County Sheriff, who says they are aware of the reports. The department adds that they are taking all tips and leads very seriously.
This comes after Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance on Sunday, which has been labeled as an abduction. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in a Tuesday press conference that it is imperative that she be found because she could die without her medication.
Sources told the Associated Press that there were signs of forced entry at Guthrie’s home. Deputies also shared that a trail of her DNA was found inside the home, though they have not said whether it was blood.
Savannah Guthrie shared a statement on social media Monday night, saying, “Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment. Bring her home.”
