LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada leadership and elected officials are set to give an update on RTC’s safety and security enhancements, including a new law that will take effect on Wednesday.
Senate Bill 290 grants RTC the authority to remove individuals who cause problems on buses. The bill gives examples of such conduct that would result in removal, such as offensive language, public disputes, interfering with or annoying passengers, and failing to leave after refusing to pay the bus fare.
RTC is also launching a refreshed “Everyday Safer” campaign that highlights what the agency is doing to enhance security for both riders and operators.
Among the speakers are State Senator Rochelle Nguyen, Clark County Commission Chair Tick Segerblom, and Henderson City Councilman Jim Seebock, to name a few.
