LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A trial date has been set for a Las Vegas suspect facing a host of criminal charges after allegedly leaving a handgun on a preschool playground, leading to a toddler shooting herself.

Tshaun Rucker, 16, was charged as an adult after he reportedly shot an RTC bus passenger, fled, and dropped his gun at a preschool playground last fall. A two-year-old girl found the weapon and accidentally shot herself.

The 16-year-old accused of leaving a gun on a preschool playground will stand trial in June.

Rucker’s case was bound over to Clark Couty District Court, where he faces 11 charges, including attempted murder with use of a deadly weapon, battery with use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm and attempting to destroy evidence.

The victim recovered from her injuries.

An initial June trial date was continued and Rucker’s jury trial is now scheduled to begin on November 12.
