LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Trump International Hotels has been hit with a new wrongful death lawsuit after a woman was ejected from the revolving doors and later died from her injuries.
The lawsuit was filed last weekend in Clark County District Court on behalf of Diana Truschke by her surviving son, John.
On March 21, 2023, Truschke was visiting the hotel as an “invited guest and patron of the Defendant,” the lawsuit reads. As she entered the revolving door, the door sped up as it rotated and struck the woman from behind, throwing her several feet forward onto her face.
Truschke was rushed to the hospital and received extensive medical treatment, according to her estate. However, she later died from her injuries on Oct. 14, 2024, at 78 years old.
The lawsuit accuses the hotel of failing to maintain the revolving doors to comply with safety codes, or at least notifying guests and staff of the risk of injury when using the doors.
According to court records, a hearing has yet to be scheduled to address this lawsuit.
