LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested two people Wednesday in connection to a month-long animal abuse investigation.
In a release sent Thursday morning, police confirmed that a search warrant was conducted on the Working Dogs of Nevada facility near Tenaya Way and Lake Mead Boulevard, in response to animal cruelty concerns.
Detectives began an investigation into the property alongside City and County Animal Protection Services at the beginning of March, which stemmed from information about training practices believed to rise to the level of felony animal cruelty.

Police issued an emergency suspension of the business’ license to the owner and seized 35 dogs from inside the facility. They say all dogs were transported to the Animal Foundation, where they will be held for 7 days and undergo physical examinations.
According to court records, two suspects are facing several counts of animal abuse in connection with the investigation. Both are due in court at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
FOX5 reached out to Working Dogs of Nevada for comment but has not received a response.
