LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Two people are dead and another is injured after an early morning crash in the southeast valley Sunday morning.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred around 4:01 a.m. on East Sahara Avenue and Glen Avenue, near Boulder Highway.

Police determined a Toyota Corolla was traveling east on Sahara at a high speed, failed to negotiate a left curve, and veered off the road, striking a nearby wall.

The Corolla then entered the parking lot of Dotty’s and continued eastbound until it struck the rear of a Cadillac XT6, which was exiting onto Sahara. The Corolla continued east, striking a parked and unoccupied Nissan Altima and eventually coming to rest against a steel railing in front of the Dotty’s.

Both the Corolla’s driver and front-right passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, and the rear passenger was transported to Sunrise Trauma, where he remains in critical condition.

Police say, due to the driver’s death, impairment could not be determined at this time, though the crash remains under investigation.

“The driver and front passenger’s deaths mark the 104th and 105th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2024,” LVMPD noted in a release.
