LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Rebels continue to make history, even as the College Football season draws to a close.
In the final AP Top 25 poll, UNLV was ranked No. 23 above Memphis and Colorado. This is the Rebels’ first time being featured in the season-end rankings in school history.
The Rebels also made their first appearance in the AP Top 25 this season, where they were also ranked at No. 23. This season would also see UNLV’s first appearance in the College Football Playoffs.
The Rebels finished the season 11-3 under head coach Barry Odom but were defeated 7-21 in a Mountain West Championship rematch with Boise State.
UNLV would end the year with a victory over the California Golden Bears at the LA Bowl.
Last month, Purdue announced Odom as the program’s next head coach following a winless season. That same month, UNLV announced Dan Mullen, who had a 103-61 record over 13 seasons at Florida and Mississippi State, as their next head coach.
