LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Coming off a first-place regular-season conference finish, UNLV football has seen a program-record 10 of its 12 games in 2024 already picked up by a host of national television networks.
In addition, four of the 12 regular-season games, including one at Allegiant Stadium, have been moved to Friday nights for increased national exposure. The program’s previous high for Friday games in a season was three in both 2021 and ‘22.
Under the direction of 2023 Mountain West Coach of the Year Barry Odom, the Rebels will kick off their 57th season of football on Saturday, August 31 by heading to Big 12 Conference member Houston at 4 p.m. PT in the first of three games being shown by FS1.
Other FS1 games in 2024 include at home vs. Fresno State on September 28 at 12:30 p.m. A Friday game, November 22 at San Jose State on FS1 still has a kick time to be decided.
CBS Sports Network selected five Rebel games this season, starting with a Friday date, October 11, at Utah State at 6 p.m. PT. In a rematch of last year’s MW title game, Boise State’s trip to Las Vegas is also on a Friday, October 25, starting at 7:30 p.m. A rare day game at Hawai’i on November 9 will kick at 6 p.m. PT while the San Diego State game November 16 will start at 7:30 p.m. and the annual Battle for the Fremont Cannon vs. UNR on November 30 will begin at 5 p.m. – all on CBSSN.
UNLV’s rematch with Guaranteed Rate Bowl opponent Kansas on September 13 in Kansas City, Kansas, is the other Friday outing and will be televised by ESPN at 4 p.m. PT. A trip to Oregon State on October 19, which will kick at either 12:30 or 7 p.m., will mark the Rebels’ first appearance on The CW.
Time and TV information regarding UNLV’s two remaining games – the home-opener vs. Utah Tech and an early October Las Vegas meeting with Syracuse — is to be announced.
“We are excited to finalize our very challenging 2024 schedule, which is full of opportunity,” said Odom. “With at least 10 of our 12 games on national TV networks, our brand will be strengthened by being on stage for an audience across the country week-in and week-out.”
