HALIFAX, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women’s golf seniors McKenzi Hall and Toa Yokoyama made a final-round push as they combined to shoot 3-under Tuesday to finish tied for 20th San Jose State’s Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational at Meadow Club (Par 72, 6,157 yards).
SCARLET & GRAY LEADERS: Hall (+4) followed up her 3-under 69 in the second round with a final-round 2-under 70 to jump 27 spots in the individual standings. Similarly, Yokoyama (+4) surged 18 spots higher on the individual leaderboard after carding her best day of the tournament at 1-under 71.
REBEL ROUNDUP: Behind their leaders’ below-par scorecards, the Rebels jumped one spot on the team leaderboard to finish 11th. Their lineup was rounded out by senior Hina Matsui (+8) in a tie for 42nd, freshman Amber Chen (+16) in a tie for 65th and freshman Caitlin Shippam (+25) in a tie for 77th.
TEAM & INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONS: No. 1 Stanford took home the team title at 29-under 835 for the tournament. Individual medalist honors were shared by the Cardinal’s Paula Martin Sampedro, Oregon’s Karen Tsuru, and USC’s Jasmine Koo at 13-under 203 for the 54-hole event.
UP NEXT: The Rebels will visit the Lone Star State in under two weeks for the Betsy Rawls Invitational being hosted by Texas from March 17-18.
