FRESNO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV Lady Rebels have kept the winning momentum going as they downed Fresno State 73-48 on Wednesday night at Save Mart Center. The Scarlet & Gray (16-4, 8-0 MW) are now 22-0 in Mountain West road games.

Meadow Roland dropped a career-high 16 points in her return to her hometown to lead the Lady Rebels. Roland shot 6-for-7 from the field, 2-for-2 from the three and made two free throws. She also led UNLV in rebounds with seven. Aaliyah Alexander and McKinna Brackens each collected 11 points apiece. Kiara Jackson dished five assists which led the squad.

The Bulldogs (12-8, 3-4 MW) were led by Mia Jacobs who put up 13 points and Mariah Elohim who had eight points. Maria Konstantinidou brought down eight boards to lead Fresno State.

TURNING POINT: Although the Lady Rebels were down by one 17-16 after the first 10 minutes of play, UNLV then turned it up in the second and went on a 12-2 scoring run to take a 30-21 lead and never looked back. UNLV’s best scoring run of the game came in the second quarter as they scored seven consecutive points. The Scarlet & Gray dominated the second quarter and out-scored the Bulldogs 27-10.

OTHER NOTES:

  • The Lady Rebels had their best field shooting game, shooting 52.7% (29 of 55). 
  • UNLV is 8-0 in MW play since 2022-23 when they went undefeated. 
  • There were eight lead changes and three times the two squads were tied. 
  • The Lady Rebel bench was hot, as they scored a combined 27 points compared to the Bulldog’s bench that scored 13 points. 
  • UNLV scored 36 of its 73 points in the paint compared to Fresno State’s 16 paint points. 
  • The Lady Rebels out-rebounded the Bulldogs 34-32. 
  • UNLV only allowed nine points in the fourth quarter. 
  • The Lady Rebels had four blocked shots tonight and Alyssa Brown had two of the four. Kenadee Winfrey and Roland each also had a block. 
  • UNLV completed the two-game sweep against Fresno State this season. 

UP NEXT: The Lady Rebels continue on the road and next visit San Diego State on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. This marks the first meeting of the season between the two squads.
