LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – UNLV Athletics landed 95 student-athletes on the Spring 2024 Academic All-Mountain West Team, the conference announced Tuesday. The Rebels have now been represented on the spring list with at least 70 honorees for 21 consecutive years.

Women’s swimming and diving had a department-leading 24 student-athletes receive the academic recognition as the school saw four programs reach double digits. Track and field’s 15 honorees, baseball’s 13 honorees and softball’s 10 honorees topped off that group.

The total tally of Rebels featured on the Academic All-Mountain West Team also includes eight student-athletes from women’s basketball, seven from women’s tennis, six from men’s tennis, five from men’s golf, four from women’s golf and three from men’s basketball.

Overall, 1,241 student-athletes were named to the Spring 2024 Academic All-Mountain West Team.

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-MW Team, student-athletes must have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, while competing in 50 percent of their team’s completed contests.

2023-24 ACADEMIC YEAR: The spring total gave UNLV 167 total student-athletes named to the Academic All-MW Team for the academic year, which increased from last year’s total of 154 honorees. Joining their MW counterparts, UNLV men’s swimming and diving and men’s soccer had eight student-athletes apiece recognized on the Academic All-WAC Team.
