HUMBLE, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men’s golf team finished sixth at the All-American Intercollegiate co-hosted by Houston and Rice at the Golf Club of Houston Tournament Course (par 72, 7,425 yards).

REBEL ROUNDUP: The Rebels (+12), who posted their sixth top-6 finish of the season, saw their senior duo place in the top 25, with Trevor Lewis (+1) tying for 17th and Caden Fioroni (+3) tying for 21st. Behind them were junior Wyatt Plattner (+6) in a tie for 38th, sophomore Zach Little (+8) in a tie for 44th and sophomore Dillon Dean (+13) in a tie for 57th.

INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT: Playing unattached from the Scarlet & Gray lineup in the individual tournament on the Member Course (par 72, 7,508 yards), senior Ben Sawaia grabbed a tied-for-second finish at 1-under 215. Also playing as individuals, junior Brett Sawaia (+6) tied for sixth and junior Billy Smith (+17) tied for 30th.

TEAM & INDIVIDUAL CHAMPION: Houston maintained its lead to claim the team title at 20-under 844 through 54 holes. The individual medalist honors went to Troy’s Jake Springer at 7-under 209.

UP NEXT: The Rebels will play their next competition in the Midwest at Missouri’s Tiger Invitational scheduled for April 7-8.
