MOSCOW, Idaho (FOX5) – An early first-half goal proved to be the deciding factor in UNLV women’s soccer’s 1-0 road loss to Idaho in its non-conference finale Sunday at P1FCU Kibbie Dome.

The Rebels (2-5-1) held firm on the defensive end for 87 minutes but ultimately couldn’t overcome a third-minute goal by a tough Vandals (6-3-1) team that remained unbeaten at home.

On the attack, UNLV created chances with three shots on goal, including two by sophomore Trinity Buchanan and another by redshirt sophomore Kylie Camp. The first came in the 24th minute off Camp’s through pass into the box to Buchanan that forced a difficult Idaho save, while Camp’s 31st-minute and Buchanan’s 89th-minute attempts each were deep shots.

Junior goalkeeper Hanne Breur faced a heavy workload to keep the Scarlet & Gray within a score of Idaho, racking up a career-high-tying seven saves. It marked the second time she recorded the same amount of stops this season.

UP NEXT: UNLV will play the third of four straight road matches with its Mountain West opener at New Mexico. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. PT.
