AUSTIN, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women’s golf team moved one spot up the leaderboard Tuesday to leave the Lone Star State with an eighth-place finish at Texas’ Betsy Rawls Invitational at The University of Texas Golf Club (Par 72, 6,157 yards).

REBEL ROUNDUP: Leading the Rebels (+69) to their seventh top-10 outing with top-25 efforts, senior Hina Matsui (+15) tied for 20th and senior Mayumi Umezu (+16) tied for 25th. Also representing the Scarlet & Gray lineup, senior Toa Yokoyama (+21) and sophomore Zi Yu Foong (+21) each finished in a tie for 42nd and senior McKenzi Hall (+23) landed in a tie for 47th.

TEAM & INDIVIDUAL CHAMPION: The No. 7 host Longhorns never relinquished their lead en route to the team title at 16-over 880 for the tournament. The individual medalist was UT’s own Lauren Kim at 1-over 217 through 54 holes.

UP NEXT: UNLV will close out its regular season slate with a trip to Maricopa, Arizona, for the Cowgirl Classic being hosted by Wyoming from April 2-3.
