LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada State Police said a pedestrian on I-15 was hit by a vehicle early Tuesday morning.
FOX5 first reported the crash when officers shut down the I-15 to investigate. It happened on I-15 northbound near Sahara, just south of the off-ramp.
Preliminary details show the driver of a silver Toyota Prius driving north on I-15 in the second to far left lane approaching the Sahara off-ramp.
At this moment, a pedestrian who stood in the inside shoulder of I-15 entered the Toyota’s path. The vehicle’s left front struck the right side of the pedestrian.
The crash made the Toyota hit a raised concrete divider wall. The Toyota came to a controlled stop. Police say the driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
“The identity of the deceased will be released by the Coroner’s Office following next of kin notification,” police said.
The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Traffic Homicide Unit. 2025 Year to date: The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command has investigated 16 fatal crashes resulting in 16 fatalities.
