LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Noah Hanifin has been named to the 2026 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team, USA Hockey announced Thursday.

Hanifin will join Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel on the U.S. roster for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games in February. This marks Hanifin’s first Olympic selection.

The defenseman has recorded 14 points in 28 games this season with two goals and 12 assists. Hanifin averages 23:36 of ice time per game, second-highest on the Golden Knights behind Shea Theodore at 24:01.

Hanifin logged 29:59 of ice time in Wednesday’s game against Nashville, the highest single-game total of his 11-year NHL career.

The Boston native represented the United States at the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off in February. Hanifin helped the Americans reach the championship game before losing to Canada 3-2 in overtime.

Hanifin has competed internationally at three IIHF World Championships in 2019, 2017 and 2016. He also played in two IIHF World Junior Championships in 2015 and 2014 and spent the 2013-14 season in the USA Hockey National Team Development Program.

The United States opens Olympic play Thursday, Feb. 12 against Latvia.
