LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A vigil is scheduled for Wednesday on a middle school campus in Las Vegas after a seventh grader was struck and killed by a van on Sunday.
The victim was identified by school employees as Jovonn Magee. The 12-year-old boy was a seventh grade student at Mater Academy Middle School.
School officials said they are organizing shirt sales and an online donation drive to benefit Magee’s family.
Magee was struck and killed by a van Sunday, just before 11 a.m., near Tully Avenue and Hidden Desert Way in east Las Vegas.
The vigil is scheduled to take place on the campus of Mater Academy Middle School.
