LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Red Rock Search and Rescue is making an end of the year push for donations as they wrap up a busy 2024.

Commander Mark Speer says this year they completed over 70 searches and 28,000 hours of searching and training.

The team is made up of about 200 nationally trained volunteers who help families search for their missing loved ones. Speer says they are on call 24/7, 365 days a year.

Before 2024 comes to an end, he says they’re hoping to raise an additional $20,000 which will go toward fuel expenses, insurance costs and renovating their training facility.

“We want to get the community involved because once they’re involved, they’re more invested in us as we are in them,” Speer says.

Until December 31, Red Rock Search & Rescue Board of Directors is matching donations up to $10,000. Anyone interested can donate through their website.
