LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KOLO) – An initiative for a bill to require voter ID in the state of Nevada has collected enough signatures to appear on the November ballot.
The initiative would require voters to present valid ID at the polls when voting.
Repair the Vote says they have now collected more than 179,000 signatures.
“We are thrilled to have reached this crucial stage in our campaign,” said David Gibbs, Chairman of Repair the Vote PAC. “The overwhelming support from citizens across the Silver State demonstrates a clear demand for measures that protect the sanctity of our vote. By requiring voter identification, we aim to strengthen the integrity of our elections and ensure that every vote counts.”
The number of 179,000 significantly surpasses the 102,362 the group needed to appear on the ballot.
The signatures will now be reviewed for state and county election officials for verification.
