LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Clark County is issuing a warning to drivers about weekend traffic delays and detours along the 215 in the west valley.
On Wednesday, the county advised motorists to be prepared for the closures this upcoming weekend and in mid-March.
The first closure will take place on the southbound 215 off-ramp to Charleston Boulevard will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27 through 6 a.m. Monday, March 2.
The next closure will take place on the Charleston Blvd. on-ramp to southbound CC-215. Howard Hughes Park Dr. West and Summerlin Centre Dr. will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, March 13 through 6 a.m. Monday, March 16.
Crews will use the closures to install large, prefabricated concrete boxes that will fortify underground tunnels used by pedestrians to bypass traffic without crossing the roadway.
The $18.7 million project also includes construction of two new trail segments: a trail undercrossing west of 215 beneath Charleston and a multi-use trail extension west of 215 between Fort Apache Road and Peace Way.
