LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Clark County School District is considering closing Goodsprings Elementary School and sending its students to Sandy Valley.
Goodsprings Elementary has two students enrolled for this school year. The school is located about 30 minutes southwest of the valley.
Middle and high school students from Goodsprings already attend classes in Sandy Valley.
If the board approves the plan, the elementary students would be rezoned to Sandy Valley starting next school year. The trip to Sandy Valley is 12 miles.
District leaders said transportation would be cost-neutral using existing bus routes.
The Board of Trustees will take up the proposal at its public meeting Thursday, April 23.
