LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A witness told a Grand Jury that a former Congressional candidate “tackled” and attacked a man at a Halloween party before his death, according to court transcripts.

Daniel Rodimer is accused of attacking Christopher Tapp at a Halloween party on Oct. 30, 2023 at Resorts World on the Las Vegas Strip. Tapp died a few weeks later. His death was initially reported as a “slip and fall” and ruled an accident until Las Vegas Metropolitan Police took over the investigation.

In testimony in April, a witness testified that she saw Rodimer “tackle” Tapp after Tapp was seen in a room with Rodimer’s step daughter and the witness where cocaine was being consumed. The witness said she remembered Rodimer telling Tapp that if he gave his step daughter cocaine, he would “f—king kill him.”

“I see Dan run towards him. And before we got in there, there was already like thumping sounds going on, loud banging noises,” the witness said.

The witness identified Rodimer in a video in which he was wearing a “Ken” Halloween costume. She also said the party was being hosted by John Odom, a racer with “Street Outlaws.” A flier for Odom’s party was part of Grand Jury evidence, which shows Tapp as a sponsor.

Tapp was a wrongfully-convicted man out of Idaho who had been released from police custody in 2019 and was an advocate for the wrongfully convicted.
