LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A police report detailed a shooting that shattered glass, cut a Las Vegas Strip resort guest, and sent her to the hospital.
The incident happened just after 10 a.m. on Friday near the Mandalay Bay Resort on the Las Vegas Strip.
According to a report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers spoke to a witness who said she heard a loud bang and then noticed a hole in the bedroom window before it started cracking. She was taken to an area hospital with injuries to her left leg from the broken glass.
Another witness told police he heard a loud bang and found a golf ball-sized hole in the window, while a third said he heard two loud bangs and what sounded like glass shattering, according to the report.
Police spoke to a valet who said he was standing by the valet garage at the W hotel and heard three to four gunshots. He told police he did not see anything unusual upon examination.
Investigators searched for bullet casings in the area but did not say whether any were found, police said. No surveillance video of the incident was found, according to the report.
On Friday, investigators said the shooting came from a location west of Mandalay Bay, and not on the resort’s property itself.
