LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Woman accused of stealing a casket with human remains inside dodges prison time.
In Aug. Sierra was caught on surveillance video allegedly committing the crime. LVMPD said someone reported Sierra lying face down outside of Affordable Cremation and Burial Services next to a casket.
Patricia Sierra was found guilty of burglary of a business.
Sierra’s prison sentence of 12 to 30 months was suspended. She will be placed on Probation and expected to participate in Drug Court for at least 24 months.
According to Sierra’s attorney she must comply with drug court conditions which include following electronic monitoring rules, obey sober living placements, refrain from using or having alcohol or drugs, visit counselors, and abide by set curfews.
Additionally Sierra must share social media access with parole officer. She must only have one cell phone and can not allow anyone to use it nor can she use others to make a call.
Sierra is set to appear in Drug Court for the first time on Dec. 20.
