LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Court documents reveal woman arrested in connection to the death of a Kansas City sports reporter during Super Bowl LIX week was arrested during her time in Las Vegas where she was accused of drugging someone and robbery.
According to the arrest report on July 9 around 2 p.m. LVMPD responded to the Encore Hotel following an incident where a man alleged he was drugged.
The victim woke up after the incident and noticed some of his things were missing.
He told police he met two females at the Eastside lounge inside Encore. The victim brought the pair to his room on the 38th floor.
Video surveillance revealed two females got off the elevator and entered his room.
The report detailed while the group was in the room drinking, the victim said one of the females forced his head back while the other poured an unknown liquid substance in his mouth.
He said it smelled like Tequila. Shortly after, Smith began to lose consciousness and realized he was probably drugged. He eventually kicked the two girls out of the room. One female left the room and entered a cab. The second woman left the room later.
When the victim woke up, he noticed his $60,000 watch, $1,500 casino chips, and an AMEX credit card were missing, according to the arrest report.
One suspect was later identified as Danette Colbert.
Colbert told police she danced for the man in exchange for $1,100 in casino chips.
Colbert was arrested related to the incident.
Court records confirmed Colbert faced two felony charges similar to those she’s accused of in Louisiana, but the cases in Las Vegas were dropped.
