LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A woman who was beaten by her son died four days later at UMC, Las Vegas police say.

Metro released the arrest report of Thomas Anthony Nolan to FOX5. He’s accused of open murder of an older person.

Police said the incident happened Sunday, Jan. 19 at 2:15 p.m. Officers were approached by neighbors of the victim who said her son pushed her with two hands. Her face hit a cabinet.

The victim said Nolan punched her three times with a closed fist in the face.

His mother had deep bruising on both eyes. The victim told police Nolan was talking to a friend and an argument started when she said her son has been acting “extremely differently” the past few days. She said he’s been talking to himself in the mirror.

When officers entered her apartment, they found a table turned over and a pool of blood in the mother’s bedroom. The victim said her son was trying to mop the floors to hide evidence.

Police would arrest Nolan for domestic battery.

Four days later, his mother’s condition grew worse. She died from blunt force trauma at UMC.

Police interviewed another family member. The victim was her grandmother.

Two days before her grandmother died, she learned she was at UMC Hospital with two black eyes and a broken nose. The victim told her she was hiding underneath a blanket in the room for two days so that Nolan wouldn’t beat her.

The victim told her not to be angry at the suspect as he “did not know what he was doing.” Her family started to drive from Colorado to Las Vegas.

When they arrived in Las Vegas, they met with Nolan who would let them into her apartment. They found blood in the master bedroom and started to clean it up.

Nolan is due in Las Vegas Justice Court for an initial appearance Thursday at 8:30 a.m. He remains in custody.
