LAS VEGAS — A woman died days after a hit-and-run crash at an intersection in west Las Vegas.

The deadly crash occurred on Friday just before 10 p.m. in west Las Vegas, when police said a vehicle driving eastbound on Desert Inn Road struck a woman crossing Grand Canyon Drive.

Police said the woman, identified as Margaret Brown, 81, of Las Vegas, was using a marked crosswalk and had a walk signal.

The vehicle, identified as a dark 2016-2019 Nissan Sentra, immediately fled the area, police said.

On Monday, days after the crash, Brown died at an area hospital. Her death marks the 78th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year.
