LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Clark County Coroner’s office confirmed a woman found on the side of the road was struck by a car.

On Tuesday, Sept. 10, just after 2 p.m., LVMPD received reports of a woman lying on the curb of Polaris Avenue north of South Highland Drive.

According to police, she was taken to University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit in critical condition.

Medical officials said she died due to her injuries.

A medical examiner later revealed the woman’s injuries were consistent with being hit by a car.

Surveillance video obtained by LVMPD shows a 2013 Ford Fusion driving south on Polaris, pulled over when its passenger-side door opened.

The woman fell out of the car, and the driver left the scene.

LVMPD reported the death of this pedestrian will not be considered a traffic fatality until the coroner’s office completes its investigation.

This is an ongoing investigation.

FOX5 will provide the latest information as it becomes available.
