LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 16-year-old shot and killed in North Las Vegas was a high school football player.
The shooting happened around 3 p.m. Feb. 29 in the 5900 block of Losee Road. Police said they were called to a business parking lot in the area and found the teen suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The teen was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Arbor View football head coach Marlon Barnett confirmed that the teen was a player on his team. According to a GoFundMe campaign, Devon Penn played football and ran track for the school.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office had not identified the teen as of Tuesday morning.
North Las Vegas Police said the shooting was believed to be an isolated incident.
