LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Flu hospitalizations in Clark County have reached 48 cases in the official surveillance season, according to new data released by the Southern Nevada Health District.
Health district numbers were updated through Oct. 17, since the 2026–2027 season officially began on Oct. 4. Despite the rise in admissions, officials have reported zero flu-associated deaths since the start of the season. SNHD previously confirmed one flu-related death, but that case occurred prior to the start of the official tracking window and is not included in the seasonal total.

Data show that older adults continue to represent the vast majority of severe cases requiring inpatient medical care. Of the 48 individuals hospitalized with influenza so far, only 11 admissions were reported among patients under 50.
Despite the increase in hospital cases, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that overall influenza and respiratory illness activity across Nevada remains at a “minimal” level.
