LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A $750,000 federal funding boost is bringing a modern crisis negotiation vehicle to Henderson, replacing an outdated, decades-old unit to bolster local emergency response.

The Henderson Police Department announced the upgrade of its emergency response capabilities with a new, state-of-the-art Crisis Negotiation Command Vehicle on Wednesday.

Henderson police say the new vehicle will replace a shared unit that is over two decades old and will be built for hostage negotiations and regional emergencies.

The upgrade was funded by a $750,000 federal grant secured by Southern Nevada congressional leaders, police officials also note.
