LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are looking for a vehicle they said hit a pedestrian and fled the area.

LVMPD said the crash happened around 12:47 a.m. July 21 on E. Harmon Ave. west of Paradise Rd.

According to police, the pedestrian, a 62-year-old man, was crossing over Harmon outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a newer model small- to mid-size, dark-colored SUV. Police said the SUV drove away from the scene.

The pedestrian was taken to Sunrise Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where they later died.

Police said the vehicle involved will have damage to the right front headlight area and the hood. It’s described as a dark-colored SUV with dark tint and apparent chrome rims.

The pedestrian’s death marks the 87th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction for the year 2024.
