LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Nye County Sheriff’s Office put out a Facebook post asking for the public’s help in finding Blake Jones.

They posted a photo of Jones with one poster who called him the “real life Charlie Brown.” Sheriff Joe McGill calls Jones something else.

“We call him a thorn in our side,” said Sheriff McGill.

In the Facebook post, the sheriff’s office says Jones has been a one-man crime spree. The sheriff says deputies have chased Jones at least ten times.

“There are times when he’s traveling over a hundred miles an hour. There’s times that he’s blowing through multiple stop signs, crossing over onto the other side of the road. He is definitely putting people in danger when they don’t need to be. He’s putting himself in danger. His latest pursuit just last week was with a passenger,” said the sheriff.

Sheriff McGill says Jones is running because he’s facing several felonies and doesn’t want to go to jail or prison.

Sheriff McGill says Jones has been in and out of jail. He says he’s bailed out, released on his own recognizance and also cites bond reform for the revolving door.

“A lot of the times people are getting out of jail because we’re not allowed by the law to hold them anymore,” he said.

The sheriff says Jones has escaped from deputies during some of the chases. He is asking the public to call the Nye County Sheriff’s Office if they spot Jones. There are sightings of him around Pahrump, but Sheriff McGill says deputies aren’t always available to pick him up.

People can contact the Nye County Sheriff’s Office at 775-751-7000, option five for dispatch. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers, 702-385-5555, where Sheriff McGill says a cash reward may be available for information that leads to Jones. People can remain anonymous when calling Crime Stoppers.
