Granddaughters and nieces of the women have been at the hospital day after day.

“They are very strong women, very lucky and very blessed,” Randy, a granddaughter said. “They felt they had enough time to make it there and the driver sped up and hit them and kept goin.”

Randy tells FOX5, her grandmother has regained consciousness and told them that she went under the car, and both she and the other sister had tire marks on their faces.

“It is disheartening to know that someone in this day and age could do something and keep going,” Waiella a family member said.

Just hours from the wedding, the family did not know about the sisters until they got a call from the hospital.

“They said they are so sorry to have to advise you that your aunt is here and they are in the ICU,” Tanya another family member said.

The two sisters have broken bones and several fractures but are worried about each other the family said.

As the sisters make their recovery, the family wants the public’s help to catch the driver.

“This happened on the Las Vegas Blvd. near a casino there is no place on Las Vegas Blvd. that isn’t covered or riddled with cameras,” Waiella siad.

The family tells FOX5 Good Samaritans stopped to help the two sisters including a Lyft driver who FOX5 spoke with.

The Lyft driver said it was the most horrible thing to witness and believe it was an SUV that hit the sisters, although police have not confirmed that.
